Irons

Need New Golf Irons

Golf Ball

Iron (golf)

Iron is a type of club used in the sport of golf to propel the ball towards the hole. Irons typically have shorter shafts and smaller clubheads than woods, the head is made of solid iron or steel, and the head’s primary feature is a large, flat, angled face, usually scored with grooves.

What do the different irons do in golf?

Irons are divided into three sets; long irons (2, 3, and 4-irons), mid-irons (5, 6, and 7-irons), and short irons (8 and 9-irons, plus the pitching wedge). Long irons are used to hit the ball further with a shorter loft, while the short irons are designed to produce a higher loft.

For most golfers, the long irons are the most difficult club to hit well. The Callaway Rogue X 2020 Combo Iron Set replaces your long irons with hybrids featuring Jailbreak and Hyper-Speed Face Cup.

The hybrid’s low center of gravity and world-beating ball speed ensures a high launch and huge carry. Combo sets often fall victim to creating a distance void between the hybrid and iron gap.

The Rogue X Irons bridge that gap seamlessly with their industry-leading

Face Cup technology and multi-material design.

They too feature a low center of gravity, helping you launch the ball high and let it land softly.

Hello there, The golf clubs called irons are so-called because their clubheads are made of metal. Of course, “woods” are now also made of metal, but that’s a very recent development. Irons have featured metal clubheads (steel, these days) for centuries. Thanks a lot for sharing this awesome article I hope it helps others especially beginners.

Golf is a fun game, but not as easy as it looks.  Practice makes perfect and you should practice every day.  Me and my youngest son do.
